Z Hotel Liverpool Review
Liverpool has a long history of music, culture, arts, and diversity. It has regularly been named as one of the best cities to visit in the World. Also, it has been named one of the friendliest cities over the years. When visiting the city for leisure, getting within walking distance to all the major attractions is a huge pull for any hotel stay. In addition price, comfort, and amenities are always factors of importance when choosing a place to stay. Luckily, we’ve written this Z Hotel Liverpool review so you can see how the hotel performs for city breaks and overnight stays in the centre of the city.
Where is Z Hotel in Liverpool?
Located on North John Street, this 92 bedroom hotel is ideally located for accessing the majority of Liverpool’s tourist attractions. The World famous Cavern Club on Mathew Street is less than 5 minutes walk towards town. Carrying on past Mathew St you will arrive at the shops of Liverpool One just a 100 metres or so after. If higher end shopping is your thing, The Metquarter is also just around the corner. To add to this, you can reach the World Heritage Docks in just under 10 minutes of walking. Here lie the Royal Liver Building, the famous Mersey Ferry and the art galleries, museums and restaurants of the Albert Dock.
Coming for the sport? Moorfields station is 3-minute walk away where connections to Sandhills are available every 15 minutes. From the 5 minute train journey, you can then either walk to Goodison Park or Anfield Stadium (~10 minutes), or take the soccer bus which runs from right outside the train station.
The hotel benefits from high floors which come with unique views of the city. Combine that with being not too close to the bars of town and this ensures a quiet night’s sleep for guests.
What Are the Rooms Like in Z Hotel Liverpool?
This converted old office block isn’t pretty from the outside, but the hotel and rooms certainly make up for this. If you are looking for somewhere to hang your hat for a romantic weekend while you explore the city and nightlife this is perfect. Rooms are cosy, and the beds perfectly comfortable to help you drift off to sleep.
All rooms are fully air-conditioned and have free WiFi, which we took full advantage of to no problems whatsoever. An added extra was the addition of full Sky Sports and Movie packages to your room with a 40” TV to watch on. This was particularly impressive given how reasonable the room prices are: starting from just £35 per night!
An ensuite toilet & shower “wet room” encased in frosted glass occupies every room too. We felt this was a cool way to incorporate facilities into a room without taking much space. The showers were also impressive with high heat and pressure; ideal for unwinding after a long day of touring this wonderful city.
Z Hotel Liverpool Review: Facilities
The rooms are well kitted out here for the price, but what else is available in the hotel? The reception actually doubles as a bar and the breakfast area in the morning.
A treat that we found a wonderful addition to staying here was the evening complimentary cheese, nibbles and wine. Every evening from 5-8pm guests at the hotel can enjoy a complimentary drink, such as wine, and help themselves to an array of cheese and nibbles. This was lovely to have as a pre-evening meal snack and/or a nice social before heading out for the night.
The breakfast was also impressive. An array of continental options are laid out in the bar area, with cooked options available to order with the staff. Guests can enjoy this up until 11am during the week and 11.30am at weekends. Granola and yoghurt is our favourite breakfast in the World and having this available was awesome before check out time at 11am.
All in all, Z Hotels Liverpool was a great stay; ideal for a city break or romantic weekend break. With rooms from just £35 per night, it is fantastic value for money too. See how big and cosy the Superior Queen room is in our latest time-lapse video. This gives you an idea of just some of the work we put into reviewing hotels with our photography, as well as how nice the rooms were at Z Hotel!
